Congratulations, Mike Vennart!
Oceansize is my favorite band of all time. Sadly, they broke up years before I could have ever imagined being able to afford to see them live.
The lead singer of Oceansize was Mike Vennart. One of the reasons that he started Oceansize was because he was inspired by his favorite band of all time, Cardiacs. Partially based on the success of I Oceansize, and partially because Tim Smith, lead singer and main songwriter of Cardiacs was such a good guy, Mike and Tim became friends.
Sadly, Tim passed away a few years ago.
Recently, the rest of the band decided to put out an album with the last songs that Tim had been working on, and they asked Mike to become their new lead singer. What an incredible journey for Mike. I am so happy for him!
You should also definitely, definitely listen to Oceansize.
